Hi everyone, I wasn't sure where to ask this question. I noticed that I have a really poor performance on with any game running in Vulkan which doesn't make sense considering my hardware and that it's Debian. I will give my hardware specifications below:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU - AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
RAM - Ballistix 32GB 3200MHz DDR4
I know it's a beast rig nowadays but it definitely doesn't justify the numbers I am getting. While playing Counter-Strike 2 it was immediately noticeable that I was getting 50-90 FPS at 1080p in with 1% lows going as low as 23 fps. It should be noted that according to Mangohud the game was utilizing Vulkan but I though it was problem only for CS2. The performance was barely changing regardless of which video settings I used and I barely got up to 140 fps on Mirage map after lowering resolution to 640x480. It defenitely should not be this bad. FSR doesn't influence it at all
At first it seemed like the problem is only with CS2 but in Valheim I had an option to choose between Vulkan or OpenGL and difference was stark. With OpenGL I was getting way better performance (almost 2x) than with Vulkan and much better framegraph stability. On Vulkan I was also experiencing severe frame drops on top of poor performance occasionally for no apparent reason and GPU was utilized only up to 30%. I can't change the 3D rendered for CS2 though so I need help figuring this one out. I will attach a screen from CS2 and Valheim so you can clearly see what I am talking about.
