Perhaps it's just inertia, but I'm using aptitude since I started using Debian 15+ years ago. I like the text UI for updating/installing packages.
I investigated further, and not just console-data wasn't involved in my case, I don't even have it installed:Checking apt's history.log, there's only 2 packages that seem to have anything to do with fonts/keymaps - fonts-cantarell:amd64 (0.303.1-4, 0.311-1), libgucharmap-2-90-7:amd64 (1:16.0.2-3, 1:16.0.2-4) - however I'm not sure if these could have contributed to the issue I've seen.

Code:
$ dpkg -s console-datadpkg-query: package 'console-data' is not installed and no information is availableStatistics: Posted by athmoss — 2026-01-11 20:02
