Hello all, I am new to the forum.
I'm TRYING to run Deb 13.2 on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15" (6,2). The install went very smoothly but after a couple of minutes once I get to the desktop (KDE) the system freezes. One of the first things i did was add the CUPS printer driver, but I've since read there were/is an issue with it. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting this freeze up? Sometimes it'll freeze within a minute, sometimes after 3 or 4.
I have some experience with Linux having used it for a few years before I retired (also a few years ago now) but I'm stumped on this problem. I just installed Debian today as the MBP was still on High Sierra and obviously no longer supported. I purchased this MBP new in 2011 and gave it to my granddaughter after purchasing my M1 MBP in 2021 (which is a fantastic machine.) She gave it back to me recently and I want to get this running Debian. The hardware is solid it had no problems with High Sierra so I'm confident in the hardware.
