Of course I could try Timeshift. But before trying, I prefer to ask if anyone has had any successes or failures doing this with Timeshift, and this is why I posted my question here. Asking such questions to get information before blindly jumping in and trying things is one of the reasons that this forum exists in the first place.
I've already seen reports of mixed results about using Timeshift under Xubuntu and Mint for this purpose, and I'm therefore wondering whether anyone might be able to report success or failure with this specifically under Debian.
And I have made it clear that I am not asking here about any other, non-Timeshift-based ways of doing this. But even after I stated that here, I'm still getting more messages here about these non-Timeshift methods.
And again ... if I can't get Timeshift to work for this purpose, I already know a few other ways to perform this cloning, and I will then do so.
And even though doing surgery on my laptops to swap disks might end up being feasible, for me it would be the most undesirable way (by far!!!) to try accomplish this.
