My laptop drive does not make the noises when I rip, and it's much older.
I have not tried on another computer yet, but it will be on windows. I have a lot to do on my list right now. I also got rid of my old IDE CD-rom writer I used to connect with an adaptor.
By my worries is that I also needed to write some non-audio CD with this drive, and I wonder if errors will get on the disk because of this issue I am experiencing. This is why I put everything on hold so far.
If the other computer with windows does not have this issue, I guess I'll use windows to write the disks and try to figure out how to fix my drive later.
