If you have some kind of information that would alter the perspectives of people for the better only a fool would hide it. They would shout it from the rooftops. If not then they either have nothing, or get some sick pleasure from letting others "suffer" (lack of better word) instead of helping them to better themselves. The paranoia about it taking over the world is the sign of a person who should be medicated. The code is in the public domain and anyone can look at it.
