You probably noticed that I am still relatively new to linux, so I have a few questions about what you wrote.
I am not quite sure how to ‘create a separate data partition for the data in my Home’ and then ‘symlink folders into $home’. I guess you mean after the fresh Debian install!?
Is it as simple as to create a folder outside home and store all my data in there? But then the dot files would be in the home folder and the rest of the system files including the folder with my data outside home!?
Or do you mean a ‘real’ hard drive partition, that I should set up in the installation process of Debian?
