I've yet to try either wayland/dwl or dwm, but I recognize the type of people pushing for abandoning X11 all over the place. This is about the best contrasting POV you could read. As long as Debian gives the choice between X and Wayland (unlike some that appear to make Wayland the default), there isn't a reason to jump ship.
I will most likely be the last hold-out to use X as I do not anticipate giving up my beloved DWM.
And for the record, I could never get DWL to run properly with IPC patching being the stopping point (yes, I actually tried Wayland and DWL).
The kind of people who think they know what is best for me and you, because it is best for them.
I'm planning to try wayland, but maybe not today, too little left of the weekend.
As for dwm, it seems a bit on the difficult side for me, at this point in time at least.
