"computer does not suspend correctly" : no, it suspends. monitor does not wake up from suspend afterwards.
The computer tower block makes working noises and fan noises when tapping keyboard to wake it up, but the monitor does not show visual.
Now it happens each time I manually click suspend, from desktop. The computer gets stuck in suspend mode and does not show visual on monitor. Monitor stays black.
I did as said and disconnected all but internet cable, keyboard and mouse from computer. It didn't improve things. The stuck in suspend and continued black screen is still a problem.
systemd -- > sleep.conf (below) :thanks but are there any more directives for me to follow to diagnose this problem ?
