People will say on the internet you can install as many DEs as you like in Linux, but really it's a bad idea. They all work in slightly different ways, and conflicts are possible and do happen.Desktop environment I installed with Debian: GNOME, XFCE and LXQT
All three DEs will have their own sound configurations, and all residing in your /home folder. A recipe for strange and difficult to track down bugs.
I would recommend you reinstall with just one DE and go from there.
Also, if you are going to cross-post, as a courtesy you should at least mention you have done so.
