I showing a number of similar errors. I've altered the asla.conf to comment out as many cards as I felt safe.
Here is what I have left and I'd like ideas on how to stop most of these errors.

to be clear I'm on an old Dell optiplex desktop running Ubuntu 24.03 by the grace of God and a new Saplos Radeon 1/2 height video.

Code:

#$ alsactl init 0Found hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Realtek ALC269VB" "HDA:10ec0269,10280577,00100100" "0x1028" "0x0577"Hardware is initialized using a generic method

Only 2 devices and only one valid as my speaker is actually plugged into the audio out on my box.

Code:

$ aplay -l**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC269VB Analog [ALC269VB Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0card 1: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HP 24mh] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

Code:

$ lspci -knn|grep -iA2 audio00 [b]Audio[/b] device [0403]: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family High Definition Controller (rev 04)Subsystem: Dell 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family High Definition Controller Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intelKernel modules: snd_hda_intel--01 [b]Audio[/b] device [0403]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Finally I'm trying to fix or suppress these errors:

Code:

ALSA lib pcm.c:2721:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM dmix:0ALSA lib pcm_route.c:878:(find_matching_chmap) Found no matching channel mapALSA lib pcm_route.c:878:(find_matching_chmap) Found no matching channel mapALSA lib pcm_route.c:878:(find_matching_chmap) Found no matching channel mapALSA lib pcm_route.c:878:(find_matching_chmap) Found no matching channel mapALSA lib pcm_oss.c:397:(_snd_pcm_oss_open) Cannot open device /dev/dspALSA lib pcm_oss.c:397:(_snd_pcm_oss_open) Cannot open device /dev/dspALSA lib pcm_a52.c:1001:(_snd_pcm_a52_open) a52 is only for playbackALSA lib confmisc.c:160:(snd_config_get_card) Invalid field cardALSA lib pcm_usb_stream.c:482:(_snd_pcm_usb_stream_open) Invalid card 'card'ALSA lib confmisc.c:160:(snd_config_get_card) Invalid field cardALSA lib pcm_usb_stream.c:482:(_snd_pcm_usb_stream_open) Invalid card 'card'

These same errors repeat every minute and I need advise on how to stop the pain.
