i was unable to login to my one and only Debian 13 account with my actual password, which was the weirdest issue I had so far. eventually, after trying a bunch of times I got in. not sure what to do at this point, and i'm afraid to logout.
my setup: laptop plugged into a docking station, of which the drivers have been installed when i imaged debian 13. 2 monitors, mouse and keyboard plugged into the docking station.
first i used laptop's keyboard - didnt work
did it a few more times - didnt work
tried the external keyboard - didnt work
eventually i got in
i had no cap locks on and was logging in like i normally do. didn't make any changes lately. i only installed Console App from the Software store recently, and ran a bunch of basic commands while taking a linux course (ls, cat, ps, pstree, etc..)
after logging in, stepped away from my computer and it went to sleep. i was able to get back in with my usual password when i woke it up. but i'm afraid to restart and am doing backup as i type this just in case i'm forced to reimage my pc, which will be pain. kinda wish i had a bunch of clonezilla backups at this point in time, but oh well. this is my main pc, sadly.
anyone has any ideas on what happened? i had no big issues with Debian, and it's the most stable distro. but this is the most strangest thing i experienced so far, and hopefully it doesn't come back and lock me out permanently.
found this but it's for Arch, but looks like he's having the same problem https://www.linuxquestions.org/question ... 175721908/
someone mentioned to login as root, but i only see my main username when i login. i could only click it and nothing else.
