General Questions • [Software] [Hardware] Trixie: an already plugged-in USB drive does not get automatically detected at boot-up

This is another question of mine which pertains to both software and hardware, so I prefixed it with both of those tags.

On my Trixie system, I have an extra USB drive always plugged in. But despite the fact that I have tried referencing it in /etc/fstab, both with and without a proper UUID, and despite the fact that I have "Mount removable drives when hot-plugged" and "Mount removable media when inserted" both selected under the "Removable Storage" settings, that drive never gets automatically mounted when the system boots up.

However, if after boot-up I manually unplug and then re-plug the device, it then does get automatically mounted.

So my system indeed properly recognizes insertion and hot-plugging of this USB drive, but it doesn't seem to see the already plugged-in drive at boot-up time.

Is there some sort of special procedure to get Trixie to recognize the presence of this USB drive at boot-up time and then auto-mount it?
