I ran into a problem near the end of an installation using netinstall 20251231
It is an installation to an AMDx86_64 machine
I selected the advanced expert install which stalled just before grub-install got called
I am reading /var/log/syslog from the shell
It looks like everything went well until after this :
popularity-contest got set up and then purged.
Then it said :
Some packages could not be installed
.........
The following packages have unmet dependencies
apt-listchanges : Depends : python3-apt but it is not going to be installed
etc
==========================================================
I suspect the problem may be caused by my attempt to use a HDD as part of an unclean install.
The disk was partially wiped of the /var/lib and /var/cache/apt directories before being mounted
as /var during the installation.
If the only way forward is to wipe that entire /var disk, that is an option, but I'd like to be sure before
taking that step.
