Before the past Christmas-New_Year holidays, many of my friends bought a new Windows 11 computers (laptops) at they believed bargain prices. Those are great machines, delightfully very light (less than 3 lbs) and mucho powerful. But to my surprise--perhaps not so much a surprise after all--no one liked it. Some don't even know how to start using it (among many things, I think you have to register your computer with Microsoft before you can use it? ? ?). But all of them are greatly annoyed by the constant bothering, reminding you that you don't have anti-virus, or whatever, and that you need to purchase Office 365 (though the first few months are free), etc. etc.It turned out that the usb-based immutable Trixie works really great. I never liked, nor trusted, a usb-based OS. But things appear to have changed a lot. I have used this usb-based immutable Trixie desktop for work for three days. No problem whatsoever. IThe first stage becomes much simpler if you create an immutable Debian on a usb. I am using a 128 GB Samsung usb as an example.
So I gave them a copy of our immutable Debian usb (much cheaper than giving them a new computer
