Hi All: Been a while but back with Debian. I have installed Trixie with Mate Desktop. I was trying different installed desktops. I logged out and chose Gnome and everything froze up. My name and PW spots were dead. I couldn't reboot. I couldn't even do a hard shut down. Hard shut down eventually worked. I was almost going to take my Dell Inspiron Laptop apart and disconnect battery. So finally got shut down. Started and no Grub. Went into BIOS and all startup OS's were gone except Windows. I wound up re-installing Mint to get grub working again. Forgot to say I have multple OS's: W11, Mint, Zorin, Fedora an Debian. So long story short: Switching desktops on log out and disaster.
Now I'm nervous about trying that again; so stick with my Mate, which is my foavourite.
