I did not upgrade. Removed the .config from bookworm, took a backup of /home, then did a new installation of Trixie, preserving /home.

The idea of removing .config is to minimize old configs hampering new programs, which is the reason to many posts here of some oddities in Trixie, they all have been upgraded from bookworm.
