Beginners Questions • Old Stable and Proposed Updates.

I think I understand this but I thought I'd check with those more experienced than I. Hopefully that's you:

On my laptop I'm still running Bookworm, aka old stable. In the sources I have bookworm, bookworm-updates & bookworm-security. I run apt update on every boot so am on the last point release 12.12.

Now it is my understanding there will be no more point releases for bookworm, so no 12.13 or 12.14 etc. I also understand that the security team will not concern themselves with what is in the bookworm-proposed-updates repository. See: https://www.debian.org/releases/proposed-updates

So if bookworm-proposed-updates will not become the next point release I'm guessing it is both a continuation from its time as stable and as an option for those that desire the latest updates but are not too concerned about the security implications? So I'm guessing adding this repo wouldn't be the recommended thing to do?

If one did add the repo, how would you use it? Select a package or two from it like backports, or install them all?

Thanks.
