Beginners Questions • files lost from the hard drive

i rebooted computer and then bunch of flies were vanished from the partition. in the info there is still reserve that there is something but i can't find the files, or they are not showing up anywhere. i tried to quick scan with testdisk, the partition was not showing.
is there something i could do
