Hardware • Re: Overheating MB: CPU boost frequency throttle, disable ACPI thermal_zone0 sensor or else?

I have a Ryzen 9 5900HX laptop and I did notice high temperatures after using it for a few months, I took the hardware route to solve my issues replacing the thermal paste on GPU and liquid metal on CPU, after this I had a noticeable change (-20 C) in temps and they have kept the same since then.

I did notice from your output that you have "boot state support" active and mine does not but don't know if it makes any difference...
Here is my cpupower output in case it may help.

Code:

$ cpupower frequency-infoanalyzing CPU 0: driver: amd-pstate-epp CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0 CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0 maximum transition latency: Cannot determine or is not supported. hardware limits: 400 MHz - 4.89 GHz available cpufreq governors: performance powersave current policy: frequency should be within 400 MHz and 4.89 GHz. The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use within this range. current CPU frequency: Unable to call hardware current CPU frequency: 4.54 GHz (asserted by call to kernel) boost state support: Supported: yes Active: no
And just to note I am using the liquorix kernel (6.7.2-3) as I needed higher kernel for rogauracore installation to control leds/battery charge level/fan curve.

do you have the amd64-microcode installed?
