It turned out that the usb-based immutable Trixie works really great. I never liked, nor trusted, a usb-based OS. But things appear to have changed a lot. I have used this usb-based immutable Trixie desktop for work for three days. No problem whatsoever. I recently encountered a suspend-related problem with installed Trixie, but not on this usb. Further, since everything is run in ram, this immutable desktop system actually runs snappier. The first stage becomes much simpler if you create an immutable Debian on a usb. I am using a 128 GB Samsung usb as an example.
Using a usb-based immutable Debian has a distinct advantage: if you happen to have an entrepreneurial spirit, you can sell an integrated system without worrying about the expensive hardware. The end-users can be advised to buy a mini-PC, which has become very powerful and very inexpensive, and I believe their size can be further reduced, if necessary. The possibilities are limitless.
