Apologies for how basic this question is, I used to be quite good and able but illness has reduced my cognition so looking for step-by-step help...

I have newly installed Debian 13. I used (many years ago) to be able to set up samba with ease but so far I've reinstalled Debian (and ubuntu and mint and budgie) multiple times due to murdering the settings so badly! Could someone give a guided setup process to enable shares on the network, anonymous and password free, that anyone in my house can access? I tried Webdav and nothing has managed to connect (so I'm doing that wrong).

My computer is called Queenie, my network name (set during Debian installation) is "powerhub". I have not installed Samba or anything apart from trying Debian's built in sharing of Public folder (and it hasn't worked).

I can use command line or gui, will merrily install any programmes needed.

Please help and please be understanding of my struggles!
