I'm not using a multi monitor setup, so I'm safe from this "lottery". I understand your frustration, maybe do a bug report if not already done?
Yes I can see where it comes in handy for that use on laptop. No nothing that really stands out at all, it is just new release with bug fixes for old problems I never seem to find. Other than the damn monitor lottery being back that they had solved in the Plasma 5. When you started and moved a program to another monitor then shut it down it always opened on that monitor. When the desktop was logged out of and back in the program started on the monitor it was on. Now with the Plasma 6 it is back to the lottery as I call it where good luck with the desktop coming back up with all of your programs on the correct monitor it was on before the logout and supposed saving of that state. And to top it off I have three monitors one of which is used for nothing but watching videos on and is off most times, this is where the desktop decides to open them programs on when messing it about. Oh and some of the time a dialog will open on another monitor now some/all of the applications that do this are not native KDE applications so that may not be their fault. Now I think the kdialog always opens on another monitor the only KDE piece I can think of at the moment that does this. Damn annoying, this with x11, the Wayland garbage is even worse good luck with any program opening on the monitor it last was on with that piece of junk...
As for Wayland, I have been using Linux for over 4 years and Wayland never made it past a few hours of use for me. It is still quite broken and I can't understand why Fedora is forcing it so hard on their KDE and other users. They have a deep dislike for X11, but it is the only thing that works well for me.
Forcing Wayland made me bail from Fedora to Debian, and I no longer care about the latest and greatest so Debian feels right at home (and I learned to appreciate its stability a lot).
