Beginners Questions • Re: [Software] sda1 Full - how to safely clear it?

Hello DebianFox, I entered the code below and rebooted, as advised.

Code:

i $ sudo dpkg --purge linux-image-6.1.0-13-amd64 $$ sudo dpkg --purge linux-image-6.1.0-9-amd64$$ sudo update-grub2$ sudo apt --purge autoremove
The machine went into kernel panic and froze. I thought I'd bricked the laptop but through the advanced options i was able to choose linux-image-6.1.0-21-amd64 and the machine booted properly.

Running

Code:

df -hTa
I see the following entry for sda1:

Code:

 /dev/sda1 ext2 455M 450M 0 100% /boot
which is as full as before, but I think there we no files for those two kernels anyway. Listing the installed kernels:

Code:

john@debian:/boot$ sudo dpkg --list | \grep linux-imageii linux-image-6.1.0-15-amd64 6.1.66-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)ii linux-image-6.1.0-16-amd64 6.1.67-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)ii linux-image-6.1.0-17-amd64 6.1.69-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)ii linux-image-6.1.0-18-amd64 6.1.76-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)ii linux-image-6.1.0-20-amd64 6.1.85-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)ii linux-image-6.1.0-21-amd64 6.1.90-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)iF linux-image-6.1.0-22-amd64 6.1.94-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)iF linux-image-6.1.0-23-amd64 6.1.99-1 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)iF linux-image-6.1.0-25-amd64 6.1.106-3 amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)
iU linux-image-amd64 6.1.124-1 amd64 Linux for 64-bit PCs (meta-package)

At least linux-image-6.1.0-13-amd64 and linux-image-6.1.0-9-amd64 are no longer listed, which is progress. Since I was able to boot into kernel version 21, I presume I'm safe to continue with the rest of the purges? Disclaimer: I do not hold anyone here responsible if my laptop bricks. You can only go on what I tell you.

Thanks again, and to you Redgreen925. I'm holding yours in reserve.
