This has me scratching my head. I have two SSD drives installed in my desktop, both have Bookworm installed. The Kingston drive was upgraded from Bullseye and the Western Digital drive is a fresh install one week ago. I have installed lm-sensors,and performed sensor-detect, on both drives. [EDIT] by the way, Bookworm is at the latest version on both drives.
Strangely, when I boot to the Kingston drive I can see the fan speeds but when I boot to the WD drive I cannot see the fan speeds.
I found that on the Kingston drive there is a folder /sys/devices/platform/it87.2608(which is where the fan speeds are found) and that folder does not exist on the WD drive.
Sensors result for the Kingston drive:Sensors result for the WD drive:The grub file is virtually identical in both drives, and I am not specifying anything related to acpi, although I don't think that is the issue.
It would appear that something did not get installed correctly.
While not having the fan speed available is not a huge issue I would like to have it available. If anybody has some suggestion(s) to help me out I would greatly appreciate the effort. Thank you.
