With the current kernel updates since around September of 2024 the support for this type of controller has completely disappeared. It was recognized until a reboot and now it is not coming back agian.
May be it is because of a failing HDD it is in a fault state or whatever. There are lots of ACPI warnings and the system again fails into the debug session.
I have to collect more data of the configuration and put it in here, but seems I have to first find an older kernel that boots my system and enables megacli again to deal with the broken HDD and after rebuilding the stack with a new drive, I need to find the most recent but payable controller that is supported by a recent megacli driver and will be supported for the next few years. And it would help if that driver also supports taking over the configuration fromm the old controller.
If anyone knows more about a good combination of Debian + LSI controller + megacli that works for the next 5 years and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
