Nice! Dmesg is the log of messages generated by the kernel, starting at boot, so it shows the kernel recognizing hardware, looking for a compatible driver and/or firmware, and loading it into the device. (among a lot of other stuff) My example also showed the bluetooth firmware being loaded to the harware on the same Intel adapter.
