As far as I know, while I have documents, like word processor docs, that the word processor has recognized as "links", for example my email address in a letter to someone. Were the reader of this online to click it, their email client would open and populate the To: field. I'm not trying to backup (copy / copy-sync) system files such as would be found in /var /proc and the like. I'm trying to safeguard files I've created or downloaded into my /home directory (folder). I'm sorry, I'm not a computer guy and forming these words isn't perfect.
