Thank you for reporting back about Debian Bug report logs - #1057260 iwlwifi: `N' invalid for parameter `enable_ini'.Hello all,
I eventually managed to solve my issue. After following instructions found in bug#1057260 to overcome the kernel issue, you need to comment out from /etc/network/interfaces what I have added to get internet working in the first place. This will pass internet control to KDE Network Manager and you will see your wifi icon again in your desktop after restarting.
I'm glad you sorted it out. :)
