I need -y since I'm running this as part of a non-interactive script, and most of the time, apt-get prompts are not very interesting, especially when it's just a routine confirmation that the packages requested will be installed and how much space will be used. It might be useful to have apt-get provide a flag to prompt only on more interesting situations, e.g. package conflicts where the conflicting package to be removed was manually installed by the user. Perhaps a "-n" flag similar to mv's "--no-clobber".
