Can I also move the tmp dir to the RAM as I do in Windows? Is it possible? Is there any reason to not do so?
I think some people and distros do, it may involve an fstab entry.
I don't bother with it.
To point the browser.cache.disk.parent_directory to this location does not work, but I had to try it.
I did mention existing directories - I would not redirect something to a new tmpfs location, I would instead check the directory can be emptied safely, and then mount the tmpfs over the existing directory.
