Of course I have installed all these packages.OpenVPN works as expected in Debian 12.
Check if the required packages are installed:
Yes i know, and the connection is working directly through OpenVPN. The only thing that is not working with the NM is an connection to an OpenVPN server that uses certificates and a username and password to authenticate. This seems to be a problem with the Network Manager 1.42 and 1.46 but not 1.36 and 1.48. The Network Manager v. 1.42 used in Debian 12 seems to have problems with VPNC and ForiSSLVPN too.If you have valid ovpn file open Network Connections in the Network Manager, click "+" button, Add VPN, Import from file..., enter User name and Password, restart service NetworkManager.
Otherwise it is possible to connect from command lineCode:
sudo openvpn path-to-file.ovpn
My problem is not that i cannot connect to servers (i can always use the terminal to do so), but that i want t know how to fix this problems in Debian 12. The only solution now seems to be to upgrade the Network Manager to version 1.48 or downgrade it to version 1.36.
